On September 7, 1986 ... we helped our parents celebrate their 40th Wedding Anniversary by throwing a surprise dinner party in honor of Barbara and Joseph Siers aka Babs and Joe.
On August 31, 1998 ... my dad was driving his car when he suffered a fatal heart attack at the age of 77. Fortunately he was able to bring the car to a complete stop before any damage to another car, property or innocent bystander could happen.
Next is a picture of my mom taken in September of 2004 ... but sad to say Alzheimer's Disease keeps her home in a hospital bed today. The doctor told us in October of 2005 her chances of seeing Christmas were slim. I am very happy to say that the holidays have come and gone and mom is still with us enjoying life with those who love her. With all the wonderful help we are receiving ... plus everyone's prayers we believe mom, who is 85 years old ... will still be with us well into 2006 ... GOD BLESS MOM
On January 31, 2006 my mom crossed over peacefully in her sleep around 2 AM.
On the 25th VITAS, a Hospice Organization placed my mom on CONTINUOUS CARE but they were unable to find someone that night. This allowed me to kiss her good night and say, "I love you mom and tell dad when you see him that I love him too" and then I closed the light and went to sleep. At 2:23 AM I woke up to give mom her medicine. I knew from the moment I turned on the light that she had began her journey to the other side to reunite with my dad and other loved ones in Heaven.
The story could not have been written any better. Without a nurse there we were able to share some special time. Had someone been there I would have been awakened by a knock on my bedroom door telling me that she has passed away.
I think being alone with the sounds of silence and the lights out ... GOD told her it was OK to leave this world. She died with no pain and a smile on her face ... because I believe it was my dad and all of her loved ones that have crossed over were there to greet her as she entered the Gates of Heaven.
Thank you for your prayers.
